 1.  “I enjoy improv. It is fun because it’s in the moment, there is no script to it, it really shows who is funny and who is not.”

 — Selvana Morcos, second-year neuroscience student

2. “I think it’s pretty cool. But I would have to see a show to really know.”

 — John Dapaah Kofi, third-year music student

Drop CU courses at the last minute

Starting next year, Carleton students will be able to able to drop their class on the very last day of the course due to a policy change supported by the Carleton Academic Student Government (CASG).

Until recently, the final day to drop courses rests about two weeks prior to the last class. Students will be able to drop a course on the final date of class, prior to their exam. This major change to the Carleton academic calendar was supported by many members of the CASG, including its president, James Splinter.

“Sometimes students need that extra time to get a better idea of how they’re doing in a course,” Splinter said.

Students, faculty, staff and their families are invited to stop by the Ice House on Sat., Dec. 12 for Carleton’s holiday skate. Beginners can receive a lesson from 2:30-4 p.m. in Rink B, while seasoned veterans can enjoy open skate from 2-4 p.m. in Rink A.

Carleton’s University Figure Skating Competitive Club will present a skate show after the festivities.

“As an exchange student, I feel this will be a great opportunity to have a genuinely Canadian holiday experience,” said Rachael Coates, a third-year film studies major from England, who plans on attending.
