Dinner time! Middlebury just won the College Quidditch Cup for the third consecutive year, narrowly defeating Emerson College. McGill lost to Middlebury in the semi finals and proceeded to play a number of scrimmage matches with some of the other eliminated teams.
The entertainment throughout the tournament was amazing. My personal favourite was the Acapella group that sang “The Mysterious Ticking Noise” from the Potter Puppet Pals. Also exciting was the bagpiper who led the Middlebury team into the finals — while riding a unicycle. There was also unscheduled entertainment — in one of the semi-final matches a handful of Middlebury students with garbage bags over their heads took down two competing teams in an amusing dementor attack.
All in all, I have to say it was a phenomenal day. I had an absolutely amazing time and have developed a new appreciation for this muggle sport. I hope one day Carleton can put a team together. Perhaps we can participate in a Canadian tournament hosted by McGill.
